Elton John & Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundations

MinxFilms was commissioned to create a film supporting California Senate Bill 239 (SB 239), a landmark effort to modernize HIV criminalization laws in California. The project was developed with the support of the Elton John AIDS Foundation and the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.

At the heart of the film, an aerialist performer transforms the narrative beyond traditional interviews, embodying the emotional and cultural dimensions of living with HIV.

Following a screening with members of the California Senate, SB 239 passed the legislature and was signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown in October 2017.
